Round or Square? Use it!

Over at Mojo Monday, they had this fun sketch.  I've kinda been into circle cards lately so I thought I'd give it a go!
This sketch and the entries on this blog are a challenge for me in that the style is more layered and "fussy" than I usually do.  But that's the fun of a challenge, right?  I tried really hard to stick to the sketch, even though I wanted to leave some elements out. Because I mounted the butterfly on yellow cardstock, it came out really blue even though its more green in the packaging.  C'est la vie!

Here's my take on the square card, using similar supplies.  In addition to Mojo Monday, I just learned about this other challenge on Use It Tuesday:  make a project with two hoarded items.

My first hoarded item from my square card is the black ribbon.  I honestly don't have that much ribbon (you crafters know who you are), but this particular remnant spool is from when I made my wedding invitations.... almost 3 years ago!  I've got other black, so this spool had to go!

My second hoarded item is the 28 mm Imaginisce brad daddy.  I only have a few of these ultra big brads, so I use them sparingly.  Why - so easy to get more!

As for the round card, I have a problem getting rid of "bling" type embellishments.  I only have one of my narrow drawers from my Workbox dedicated to this type of embellishment - and its overflowing.  I can't help but always buy more.  I MUST thin the pack here!
Last but not least, I purchased this fancy-schmancy yellow pleated trim some time ago for some awesome project - and have been looking at it ever since.  Never used.  Just taking up space.  Time to get some on a project and move on!

Thanks for taking a peek, and I sure appreciate your comments!

Beautiful zesty, youthful and colourful cards. And the paper flower is gorgeous. I know what you mean about hoarded stash - maybe I ought to go on the challenge site myself & force myself to use up some of the much accumulated stash I have lol. Px
