Jingle All the Way

Challenge Me Monday - #141 Bells Are Ringing

This week's challenge is to make a project with a bell on it.

Ribbon - re-purposed from a Harry & David gift box.  Flair (mini button) from Black Friday shopping at JC Penny's.

This was originally meant to be a card as it measures 5 1/2" tall, but only a tad under 4" wide.  (Designed on my Gypsy.) And when I cut the ribbon layer, it somehow came up short. I think I'm going to use this as a tag instead of a real card.  It sits rather front-heavy and tends to fall over.  So, there's some things I'm happy with, and some not so much.  But the bottom line is it is a handcraft and will go on to someone with love - and especially this time of year, that's what really counts.

Carts:  Art Philosophy, Artiste.
Cardstock:  American Crafts, Paper Accents

Stamp:  American Crafts
Bells, Flair, & Ribbon from stash.

Merry Christmas everyone.
And much thanks to the mods over at FCCB, truly one of my favorite challenge sites!
A blessed season and Happy New Year to you!

Snow 1 Like U

My muse for this creation is my niece who happened to be wearing just the right colors and playing in the snow which were two themes that worked perfectly this week.  This'll be a holiday card for Sylvia's Grandma & Grandpa, my parents.

Front of Card:  Snow 1
Interior:  Like U

I muted the colors (more so in her hat) to fit the color scheme better.  I also gave it a soft glow and an antiqued border.            A6 size card.

No Crafts; Just Family Entertainmnet

Something different this time up, a quick video profiling the fun JP and I had while visiting his parents in Lake Havasu, AZ, over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Joan & Jim tripped the light fantastic, showing us "kids" how its done - very sweet! Then we had some fun in Vegas and watched a great tribute act - really fun.

Thanks for stopping by for a look.  More craft posts in December, that's for sure!

Some fun I've had editing some photos from the trip - these'll be sure to end up on some papercraft projects soon!

Harvest Blessings

Card measures 4.5 x 3.75"

Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics, Paper Accents, Bee Paper Co.
Pens:  Spectrum Noir
Cart:  Autumn Celebrations

Craziest thing with this cart, notice how it cut the bottom of the card base a bit off-set, so the lines didn't match up.
I just used scissors to trim up the rounded corner which turned out OK, but I was a tad disappointed with the original cut.

I am just loving the Autumn Celebrations cartridge!  In particular the "block shadow" artwork on it is fabulous!  Is there a Winter Celebrations cart that's similiar?  I'll have to do some checking.  This card couldn't have been easier to do, as the cart has a card and tag feature that virtually do all the work for you.  I cut a second base to adhere to the back of the outline so that I could color in the fruits with my SN pens.  Quick, simple, & fun!

"Bestest Friends"

For my friend Kim, who has helped out so much with neighborhood events this year.  She deserves a little recognition!  Embellishments:  Embossed Paper, Ribbon, & Pearl Pen.

Crazy how much light changes these colors - I always struggle to get them to show true.  Believe it or not, the middle star and the banner outline are actually the same cardstock!  IMHO, it truly was "cinnamon" glitter.

Inspiration pieces found in the CTMH Autumn 2012 Catalog, pg 46.

Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics, Recollections, & stash.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Soot & Walnut Stain Distress Inks.
Stamps:  CTMH, Recollections, Cardz TV, & Inkadinkado.
Embossing Folder:  Sizzix.
Ribbon:  American Crafts.
Carts:  CTMH "Artiste", Graphically Speaking.
Black Viva Decor Pearl Pen.
A2, top fold card.

Truly, Madly, Deeply: Scrapbook Page

Welcome in to The Play Date Cafe!

Let's get right to this week's
exciting colors
and they are

Wine...Pumpkin...Moss

I thought I'd try my hand at something a little different and do a scrapbook page.  I'm not much of a scrapper, but I love this photo snapped poolside of my handsome husband and wanted to profile it in my office somehow.

I have the toughest time with light and capturing accurate colors!  Honestly these were all the colors from the challenge, not peach, brown, and lime green!

Grunge board hinges are combos of Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters & Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Bronze.
I gesso'd my grungeboard pieces and then inked them up so they'd take the colors more "true."

Pin says "Keepsake."  So fitting for my feelings about the photo subject!

As you can tell I went all kinds of happy using Tim Holtz products.  I've had these sprockets and game spinners forever, just now using them!

The paper was much more pinky-red, so I used a direct-to-paper approach with distress inks and Pearl Poppy Memento ink. Photo edited in PSE9 and Perfect Effects 3.

I didn't use a sketch or anything for this layout -and I didn't even use my cricut!  I can hardly believe I accomplished this without either one.  But I've hoarded these TH products for such a long time, it was so much fun to put it all on one project!

I'm not sure how effective the design here is, but I had fun all the same and will happily put this up in a frame above my desk.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

October Day

Stamp TV Mix it Up Monday:

STV12MON37 – Fall Friends

I LOVE fall and know a few other special people who do too.  This is a card and sentiment I know they'll appreciate!

The stamp is ancient - from the early 1990s, sadly the maker is unknown.  Stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Bee Paper Co. paper and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers.

Literally I've had these a bag of natural feathers for about a decade.  These itty-bitty ones do make a nice natural or masculine accent, don't you think?

Just a touch of raffia to set off the sentiment.

When I first began stamping way back in the early-mid 1990s, raffia was everywhere and used on everything.  I still have a stash, but it only seems to be used in little bits - that's OK I guess, no one needs to know how old it is!

Use It Tuesday

Challenge #39: Anything Goes!

Thanks for checking out my blog.  I love hearing from you!
