Spectrum Noir Color Confidence (series)

If you came here from my YouTube channel looking for Spectrum Noir color charts and other resources, you've come to the right place!

Download the blank SN color chart from the Crafter's Companion website, or visit the .pdf file here.

To save time when coloring a project, I created color tags with the numbers of the blended colors on them.  This way I can easily find the colors in various color groups that blend well for that just-right color I'm looking for.  This saves a lot of time, and helps me avoid some of the combos that don't blend as well as others.
Example of the tags I made in several color ways. Several (brick, dress) are from the CC video ft. Lee Ann Chivers.  Others (lemon) are my own ideas.
CG1 actually works like a blender pen with the CG4 although they are in the same color group.
When there are fewer pens in the color group, its best to blend with as many colors as possible for the best finish.  There are only 4 Citrus Green pens.
There are 11 pens in the Coral range and I found they all blended wonderfully.  You could even skip some colors in order to get a richer, deeper color, but opening up fewer pens.

Here are some of my favorite color combos.

(Sorry for the gray-scale - I'm still learning photography tips and tricks to get the most accurate color.)

I'm still 24 pens shy of the total 168 that are available.  I'm missing the "Darks" set.  But if you'll notice, I use shades of gray to increase the color's intensity.

For a complete look at gaining color confidence with the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, check out my videos.

I am in the process of completing a set of the S.Noir pens so I am very appreciative to have found your site. What a remarkable job you did in blending the colors together. I had thought that if you kept the colors in numerical order the blending would be perfect. But, I can see I was wrong and need to reference your charts to get it right! So, thank you for all the work you did. I will be coming back.

Just completed my 168 pen set and have been working with them since Christmas.. Thank you for the wonderful blog and tutorial videos. I am still learning the ins and outs of the pens and their colours and am eager to put a set of tags together like you have done. That I think will be my goal for today. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all your hard work. I have 8 sets of 6 and thought there were only 3 more sets (essentials, cool and warm grays) but I just read there are tons more - 168 altogether! I am going to have to research them further, I see. I am so glad you shared your blending combinations. It will be very helpful!

thank you so much for sharing these video's. I'm still learning. I have the Spectrum noir Illustrator markers, but there are 3, that doesn't go on the colourcard. BO3 Amber, AB3 Carribean and GY3 gold. Are they on another colourcard?

I just watched your series of 3 videos. Thank you so much for the color blends. I have the majority of the new SN Illustrator markers and have been looking for some blends to try. My question to you is what did you use to punch out the round shapes? I would love to do something similar.

All these blends look wonderful but are they the same for the illustrator collection of pens. I have the portrait collection plus a few others and I can't find anywhere blends to use them. Can you help?
Kindest regards Sue.
