Birthday Disguise

Heart2Heart Challenge:  We "Mustache" You to Join

Create anything you want that features mustaches.

Could the ladies over at Heart2Heart Challenge picked a theme any more challenging for me? The Mustache craze is cute and funny, but I had such a hard time relating on a creative baisis.  Well, I guess that's why they call them "challenges!"

I used the Artiste cartridge to cut the mustache and put it on an edited photo of my brother-in-law who's birthday is in April.  I would say the beauty of the CTMH cartridges is that they are so versatile, just one simple cut can add fun and whimsy to any project or event!

I'm playing along with the March Madness contest, and this is my 3rd week and 3rd entry - whoo-hoo!  Come check them out, you can find my other entries here and here.  You have until the end of the month to enter each week's challenge and possibly win a prize.

Now, on to the real March Madness... let's go Ducks!

Shamrock Tag

FCCB Challenge Me Monday - #152 Luck O' the Irish

Tomorrow are the student-led Parent/Teacher conferences for my husband's 8th grader.  This is one of the last few times we'll be doing this as he's the youngest and headed off to high school next year.  I expect good things during the conference and will surprise him with his favorite treat "du jour" a Toblerone chocolate bar.  (Don't ask me how he got into that, but he's been totally into them lately.)
He's a teenage boy, so too cute or sappy is not his style, but a simple gift tag on the bar telling him how proud I am of him will do the trick.  And as St. Patrick's Day is this weekend, its a perfect theme.

Art Philosophy cart.  Tag cut on my Gypsy at 4.33"

CTMH Artiste Collection Kudos stamp set, Memento inks in Dandelion, New Sprout, and Cottage Ivy.  Black StazOn ink. Gold thread, DMC.  Ribbon, coated cardstock and gold paper all from scraps.
Just a word about my messed up stamp phrase.  As this is chrome coat paper, I needed to stamp the sentiment with permanent ink.  And I wanted a nice, deep black to stand out from the other ink colors.  Well, when I stamped away, the ink actually was very sticky, and lifted the whole card up, providing an uneven impression.  Arrrgghh!  I had no choice but to stamp it again.  Its certainly not perfect, but I thought for this use... good enough to do the trick.  I think its time to replace my StazOn though!

Heart 2 Heart:  Go Green!

This is my second entry this month at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.  My goal is to play along with all 4 challenges for the month.  Check my entry for last week here.  These entries mark the first time I've ever participated in their challenges which enters me into their March Madness prize contest - how fun is that?!  Go on over to check them out - you won't be disappointed, and maybe you'll play along too.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love any and all comments too!

Thinking of Reading

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #105 - Read Across America

...create a project that has something to do with reading. (Examples are bookmarks, projects with a book on it image of reading, something about your favorite book, etc.)

DCWV Timeless Type cardstock, and scraps from stash.  A Child's Year cart.  Offray ribbon.  Michaels bird.  Weathered Wood and Broken China Distress Ink, & VersaFine Black Onyx ink.  Stamp unknown.  A2 size card.
Loved this theme, which was perfect for an all-occasion card for my MIL.  She spent her career as an elementary school teacher, primarily 2nd grade.  She has taught many a child how to read during her lifetime.

Happy Spring

Mojo Monday 283 Contest

A2 card.  AC Cardstock, and scraps.  Stamps:  CTMH "It's Your Day," "Whooo's Your Valentine,""Perfect Fit Frames," My Creative Time "Teeny Tag Greetings."  Border from CTMH "Art Philosophy." VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Bling from Recollections.

Paper piercing courtesy of my CTMH ruler - love it!

Here's my entry for some of my favorite challenges, and then one I've been following but have never entered.  The CTMH Heart 2 Heart blog features CTMH products, which I certainly have plenty of, but not exclusively.  Well they are having a March Madness challenge to encourage first-timers, and not all products have to be CTMH, perfect for me!  What's nice is that they have weekly challenges, but then they are open all month long to participate in - just my speed.

I went with the general spring theme, conveyed with my sentiment and color choices.  I hope this makes the grade!   I know owls aren't usually associated with spring, but I just won that stamp set (thanks Damask Divas Blog Hop) and was itching to use it.  Plus that little guy was just the right size and pretty darling, so, why not spring?

Spring Forward with H2H!!

That's right our challenge this week is all about "springing forward" and EMBRACING the upcoming time change!   Your project can be anything that has to do with Daylight Savings Time or Springing Forward -- clocks, time, sun, spring, etc.- the possibilities are endless!

Hollyhock . . . Spring Bud . . . Azure
